I am connecting the metalic reflective objects, the mirror in Scene IX, the tray in Scene II, the bowl in Scene V. These three points represent the three phases of the intiation/learning cycle.
The picture on the left shows the north east corner, the image on the right shows the south east corner. The photo on the left is the north east corner (scene VII & VIII) and window.
The photo on the right, is the south east corner with scene IX, and a little cupid looking on from the south wall.
Scene VIII
This is known as the flagellation scene. A woman kneels over the lap of another as the black winged angel from Scene VII is about to lash her with a whip. There is a naked Bacchante standing as witness, with back to the viewer. This ends the terror sequence.
Window
The position of the frescos and the window may symbolize the illumination of the initiate.
Scene IX
The initiate is seated as her maid dresses her hair. A cupid (eros) standing behind her, holds a mirror up with her image reflected to the viewer, however she is not facing the mirror. It seems that this is a mirror and not a painted portrait as the face with hair being combed is duplicated as emphasizing the moment. The reflective aspect is echoed by the small eros on the south corner who is looking on, as well as the initiate in the final scene.
The mirror reminds me of Velazquez' Venus and Cupid and the connection to Mars God of War (essay underway).
